Some 4,000 Iranian companies are doing business in Georgia, says Iran’s Ambassador to the Eurasian country, Abbas Talebifar. “Most of these companies have invested in the agriculture sector,” the ambassador was quoted as saying by IRNA. Bilateral trade between Iran and Georgia is relatively small, standing at around $100 million per annum. In August, Iran’s Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei, in a meeting with Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania in Tehran on Saturday, underlined that Tehran and Tbilisi can increase the volume of economic exchanges fourfold.
