To support domestic garment producers, promote exports and prevent smuggling, the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade has issued a directive that requires international clothing retailers and their franchise holders to meet the set conditions within two years of their doing business in Iran.

As per the directive, foreign brands are required to allocate at least 20% of the value of their imports to joint production with Iranian producers and export at least 50% of their products, Shata News reported.
