The completion of road, highway, freeway and railroad projects in Iran requires up to 130 trillion rials (close to $3.66 billion at market exchange rates), according to deputy minister of roads and urban development, Alireza Mahfouzi. “Due to the insufficiency of the government’s financial resources in the construction sector, we are prioritizing these projects. Private sector contractors also have been of service in this regard,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
