The consul general of Turkey in Tabriz Çağlar Fahri Çakıralp says 166 Turkish companies have invested over $1 billion in Iran. “East Azarbaijan Province and Aras Free Zone are now home to 40 and 14 Turkish firms respectively.” He said 3,899 Iranian companies—second after the Germans in terms of the number of businesses—have made investments to the tune of $101 million in his country, IRNA reported.
