Members of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture will vote today to pick a new president. This is while as of Saturday no one had announced candidacy for the top job, which lies vacant after Mohsen Jalalpour stepped down last month citing poor health.
The most likely contenders however are former president of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Valiollah Afkhamirad; president of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Masoud Khansari; and president of Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Gholamhossein Shafe’i. Jalapour was appointed to the ICCIMA job in June 2015.
