Imported household appliances sold in sales outlets other than the licensed representatives of those brands in Iran will be considered illegal and confiscated as of September 22, according to head of Iran’s Home Appliances Association, Mohammad Tahanpour. “Violators will be fined four times as much as the original price of the seized items,” ISNA quoted the official as saying. Authorities have recently conditioned imports of household appliances on their sales in only licensed representatives of foreign brands who provide after sales services, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran announced last week.
