About 1,800 tons of milk in excess of domestic demand is converted into powdered milk everyday as demand has tanked for this dairy product, according to the head of the Agriculture Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture. “The current slump in the economy, high taxes imposed on producers and the decrease in the people’s purchasing power, have caused a decline in food sales, dairy products in particular,” Mehr News Agency quoted Kaveh Zargaran as saying.
