Circulating warning messages on social media against the import of red bananas infected with HIV virus are baseless and unscientific, the head of Agricultural Products Exporters’ Association said. “Colored bananas, grown in countries like Tanzania, Costa Rica and Mexico, are the result of cross-breeding with berries. They are high in vitamin C and potassium,” IRNA also quoted Seyyed Reza Nourani as saying.
