Government revenues from Tehran Province stood at 112,000 billion rials ($3.14 billion at market exchange rates) in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 20), the head of Tehran Province Organization of Economic Affairs and Finance said. Mohammad Aqaei added that “taxes were the main sources of revenues for the province”, IRNA reported. “Tehran has attracted about $13 million in foreign investment in the four-month period. This comes as the total foreign investment absorbed by the province in the last fiscal year (March 2015-16) stood at $213,000,” he said. Aqaei noted that Tehran is home to 22% of domestic industries, accounts for 25% of total added value and comprises 40% of the country’s consumer market.
