SCI: Rural Inflation Falls to 8.3%

The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending July 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Tir, increased by 8.3% compared with last year’s corresponding period. The Statistical Center of Iran had reported an 8.8% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month. The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 239.9 in Tir, indicating a 2% growth compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 6.6% compared with last year’s similar month. Urban inflation for the month of Tir was earlier put at 9% by SCI.
