An Iranian trade delegation arrived in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on Thursday on a two-day visit to discuss expansion of bilateral ties. Ali Navadad, deputy governor general of Iran’s East Azarbaijan Province, headed the 24-member provincial delegation, Azarbaijan’s Trend News Agency reported. During the visit, representatives of several companies from East Azarbaijan discussed opportunities for joint production with Nakhchivan. Representatives from firms involved in the fields of construction, food, packaging, exports and imports, transportation, glass, steel, agriculture and building materials, as well as administrative officials are part of the delegation. Iranian Consul General Mansour Airom described joint economic cooperation with Nakhchivan as “a bridge for extensive cooperation with Azerbaijan and even with the Caucasus and the Commonwealth of Independent States”.
