Northern Cyprus can act as the gateway to Europe for Iranian products, Karim Khosravian, the commercial attache of Northern Cyprus in Iran said to Tasnim news agency yesterday. “Northern Cyprus is a lucrative market and Iran can export its products, especially agricultural products to this market,” he said. Today, Cyprus has various economic potentials, which makes it look very attractive to Iranian businessmen, he added. Khosravian called on Iranian companies to explore new avenues for cooperation in Northern Cyprus, adding that Iran is currently the only provider of watermelons to this European country. Northern Cyprus is a self-declared state that comprises the northeastern portion of the island of Cyprus.
