The government aims to create a positive trade balance through deregulating foreign trade and empowering domestic businesses to compete in international markets, the head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Valiollah Afkhamirad told ILNA on Friday. “During the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21-October 22), a 19 percent growth was recorded in Iran’s total trade compared to the same period last year,” he said. Afkhamirad added that the government is throwing support behind the industry, agriculture, and mining sectors to reach its purpose of increasing exports to levels higher than imports. He said that commercial attaches in Iranian embassies are helping the government increase exports to overseas markets.
