An international conference on investment opportunities in post-sanctions Iran opened in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

Entrepreneurs and investors from Malaysia and other member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are taking part in the two-day conference to discuss issues of mutual interest in business-to-business meetings with their Iranian counterparts, according to executive secretary of the conference, Reza Mohammad Kazemi.

A 40-member Iranian delegation representing 17 companies from the sectors of oil and gas, tourism, hospitality, construction and food is also attending, IRNA reported.

Kazemi said more than 90% of the participants in the event are from the private sector.
