Renewed Call on Exporters to Iraq to Get CO

The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran has again called on all Iranian exporters to Iraq to obtain certificates of origin since the Iraqi government has reimposed a ban on imports of goods lacking the document. The regulation was initially put into effect in late May. Yet, due to the Iraqi officials’ announcement at short notice, long lines of unwitting cargo trucks were formed at Iran-Iraq borders, ISNA reported.  Therefore, the implementation of the move was postponed for Iranian exporters to be able to obtain the due documents. A certificate of origin is an international trade document that confirms that goods in a particular export shipment are produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country.
