A new storage facility for hazardous goods and inflammable material has been built at Imam Khomeini Port’s Special Economic Zone at a cost of 153 billion rials (more than $4.3 million at market exchange rates), the general manager of Ports and Maritime Organization of Khuzestan Province in southern Iran said. “This storage facility has been constructed in a 6,000-square-meter plot of land and consists of roofed and unroofed storehouses as well as an administrative office and weighing center. Together, the buildings can store up to 1.8 million tons of goods,” Sadollah Abdollahi was also quoted as saying by IRNA, adding that it is the best-equipped facility of its kind in the whole country.
