Iran reopened land borders with Turkey on Saturday, after hours of shutdown in the wake of a coup attempt in the neighboring country. Transit trucks and passengers were allowed to travel back and forth from the three border crossings of Bazargan, Sarv and Razi as of Saturday evening, ISNA reported. A Turkish Army faction’s attempt to oust the government on Friday night wreaked havoc on the neighboring country. The coup attempt failed, as supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took control by Saturday morning. Turkey is currently Iran’s only land transit route to Europe.
