Around 15.2 million tons of goods valued at $6.53 billion were exported from the southern Bushehr Province in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2016), which indicates a 142% rise in weight and 81% increase in value compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to Bushehr Customs Bureau. The exported commodities included gas condensates, petrochemicals, fertilizer, sulfur, cement, clinker, lime, chalk stones and fish. China, the UAE, South Korea, India, Japan, Indonesia, Turkey, Kuwait, Italy and Pakistan were the main export destinations. Meanwhile, 224,000 tons of goods worth $419 million, including bananas, rice, butter, tea, cars, tires, auto and motorcycle spare parts, air conditioners and fiberboard sheets were imported from China, South Korea, the UAE, the Philippines, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the US and Canada during the same period, IRNA reported without comparing the value of imports to last year’s corresponding period.
