Iran exported $32.7 million worth of goods to Vietnam during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20, 2015).  Imports stood at $2.4 million during the same period, Eghtesad News reported. The report added that in the last Iranian year (March 2015-16), exports and imports amounted to $322 million and $21.5 million respectively. Iran’s main exports to Vietnam include pistachio, shrimp, fig, frozen chicken, tar, flowers and furfural, in return for importing chili, mobile phones, razors, coffee, coconut, fisheries feed, propylene glycol, polymethyl methacrylate sheets and raw glycerol. Last week, Valiollah Afkhamirad, the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, paid an official visit to Hanoi to attend the second meeting of Iran-Vietnam Economic Commission. The visit came after Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang was in Iran back in March. During the earlier visit, the two countries devised a roadmap to increase bilateral trade to $2 billion in five years.
