Aras Free Zone offers numerous trade opportunities which could turn it into an important economic hub that would connect Iran with markets in the Caucuses within the next decade, the Managing Director of Iran-Armenia Friendship Association, Mohammadreza Damavandi, said on Tuesday. Pointing out that the Armenian authorities have plans to set up a free trade zone on the Armenian side of the international border, Damavandi said, “The launch of this economic area could help strengthening ties between the two countries through Aras zone and the proposed Armenian free zones,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
