Daily egg exports to Afghanistan have tripled to reach 150 tons, according to Iran’s Association of Egg Producers. Meanwhile, exports to Iraq have been put on hold due to the decline in consumption and prices in the neighboring country, Mehr News Agency reported. Iran exports between 50,000 and 60,000 tons of eggs annually while more than 850,000 tons of the product are consumed domestically. Production currently stands at 950,000 tons, which leaves a surplus of 50-100,000 tons. Egg exports halved in April after Turkey entered regional markets last month.
