 Mehran Border Exports Rise

Exports to Iraq through Mehran international border—located in the west of Ilam Province—since the start of the current year (March 21) amounted to over $647 million, showing 20 percent increase, compared to the same period last year, Khalil Heydari, director general of Ilam Customs told IRNA on Monday. The weight of the export goods amounted to over 1.5 million tons, which shows an increase of 9 percent in comparison with the same period last year. The exported goods mainly included construction materials, plastic containers, metal products, glassware, fruits and vegetables. Over 287 tons of goods were imported during the past seven months through the border, the official added.
