Iran exported 12,590 tons of pistachios worth $119.23 million during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20, 2016), the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration announced. The figures show a 25% rise in volume and more than 21% growth in value compared to last year’s corresponding period, ISNA reported on Friday. The UAE, Germany, Turkey, Iraq, India, Jordan, Spain, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan were the main export destinations for the Iranian delicacy. Last year’s exports stood at 118,000 tons worth over $1.2 billion, which showed a 34% and 24% decline in volume and value respectively compared with a year before.
