Iran and Italy are scheduled to hold a joint exhibition in Rome in November. Both Iranian and Italian companies are slated to take part in the upcoming event, which is aimed at promoting bilateral industrial, economic and cultural exchanges. According to Italy-based AGI news agency, Italian Minister of Economic Development Frederica Guidi, Minister of Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Maurizio Martina and Minister of Cultural Assets and Tourism Dario Franceschini will be present at the expo, which is jointly organized by Iran International Exhibitions Company and Italy’s Fiera di Roma. Italy was one of Iran’s main trade partners before the imposition of nuclear sanctions against Tehran, as bilateral trade stood at €7 billion in 2011, but has since dropped to around €1.6 billion.
