According to Tehran Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, cigarettes and tobacco top the list of confiscated smuggled goods during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20) in the capital city.
Cosmetics, stationery, auto parts, cellphones, fruit, snacks, drinks, fireworks, toys, bags, shoes and home appliances were other widely smuggled items during the period, ISNA reported. As IRNA reported, more than 2.39 million smuggled cigarettes were seized at a customs post in Ardabil Province, located in the northwest of Iran bordering Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
