Iran and Portugal have, for the first time in their history of mutual economic cooperation, signed a 25-article Air Transport Agreement (ATA), Alireza Jahangirian, head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said yesterday. According to IRNA, an Iranian delegation signed the contract after holding negotiations with their Portuguese counterparts on November 6 and 7 in Lisbon. “This is the first such contract Iran has signed with an EU member in the past 35 years,” Jahangirian stated.
