The Managing Director of Kish Free Trade Zone has announced new direct flights between the Persian Gulf island and Turkey’s largest city of Istanbul will start in the near future, Mehr news agency reported. Ali Asghar Mounesan pointed out the importance of trade between Iran and neighboring countries, saying “development of Kish requires a continuous relationship with regional countries that could help handle infrastructural projects in the island.” The direct flights would cost 7.5 million rials per person and would commence in the next month, he added. Each passenger would be able to carry 50kg of luggage, compared to 20-30kg permitted by other domestic and international flights.
