The average goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending May 20, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Ordibehesht, reached 9.4% compared with last year’s corresponding period. The Statistical Center of Iran had reported a 10.1% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month, Mehr News Agency reported. The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 233.6 in Ordibehesht, indicating a 0.4% decline compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 5.9% compared with last year’s similar month.  Urban inflation for the month of Ordibehesht was put at 10.2% by SCI.
