Iran imported one million cubic meters of wood, 95 percent of which was provided by Russia, Abdolazim Aghajani, the secretary of the Association of Iran Wood Industries Employers told ISNA yesterday. The official said that in spite of its large swaths of forests, Iran is yet not self-sufficient in producing its required wood and that the domestic agricultural sector produced 3.5 million cubic meters of wood during last year (March 21, 2013-March 20, 2014).
