The import of sugar, vegetable oil and wheat is temporarily permitted on condition that these are processed inside the country and reexported, Iran’s Agricultural Jihad Minister Mahmoud Hojjati stated in a letter to Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia. “Due to the decline in the global prices of these goods and in order to boost Iranian exports, the Agriculture Ministry has decided to permit the temporary import of these items,” reads the letter cited by Bourse Press.
