More and more Iranians are clicking themselves into the world of consumerism. Through their smartphones, computers and tablets, people purchased up to 610,000 billion rials (about $18 billion at market exchange rate) worth of goods in the last Iranian year (March 2015-16), according to the deputy minister of industries, mining and trade, Ali Asghar Tofiq. “The figure stood at 500,000 billion rials ($14.7 billion) and 140,000 billion rials ($4.11 billion) in the two preceding years,” he was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency.
