A total of 26 Italian textile machinery manufacturers will be taking part in a forthcoming roadshow in Iran organized by the Italian Trade Agency and supported by the Ministry of Economic Development.  The gradual elimination of sanctions against Iran will allow Italy’s textile machinery industry to recover market shares lost in recent years, Textile World, a publication of US-based Textile Industries Media Group, reported. A total of 26 Italian manufacturers will be taking part in a series of technology symposia programmed in major Iranian cities of Tehran, Yazd, Isfahan and Mashhad. The roadshow will run from May 22-30.  The mission, organized by the Italian Trade Agency and the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, with the support of Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development, will allow Iranian textile manufacturers to measure their knowhow with some of Italy’s primary producers of textile machinery. Iranians will also become acquainted with the most up-to-date solutions for the different steps involved in the textile production process, according to the report. “In recent years, international sanctions have delayed the modernization process required for local industry to continue to be competitive in a global context,” says Raffaella Carabelli, president of ACIMIT.  “In 2004, Iran was ranked among the top 10 markets for Italian exports in the sector. After years of complete stagnation, our businesses have begun to do steady business in Iran. I’m confident that this roadshow will contribute to allowing us to recoup lost time.”
