The association has 20 members, namely Australia, Bangladesh, Comoros, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Oman, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Yemen and the UAE. Promoting sustainable growth and balanced development of the region and member states; surveying areas of economic cooperation and removing barriers to free flow of goods, services, investment and technology within the Indian Ocean rim are among IORA’s objectives.
