Iran-Belarus Economic Commission Opens in Minsk

The 13th meeting of Iran-Belarus Economic Commission, headed by the Iranian Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and his Belarusian counterpart Vitaly Vovk, opens in Minsk on Wednesday. The two sides are to discuss ways ofenhancing bilateral economic, commercial, industrial and technological cooperation, IRNA reported. Fields of common interest include oil and gas, petrochemicals, automotive, construction material, electricity, minerals, pharmaceuticals, health, medical equipment and trade exhibitions, according to the report. Vovk had earlier expressed his country’s willingness to meet its demand for fruit, fish, drugs and medical equipment through Iran. Iran-Belarus trade stood at about $75 million in the last Iranian year (ended March 19, 2016).
