The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending April 19, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Farvardin, increased 10.1% compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the Statistical Center of Iran’s latest report. The center had reported a 10.6% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month. The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 234.5 in Farvardin, indicating a 0.7% growth compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 7.3% compared with last year’s similar month. Urban inflation for the month of Farvardin (ended April 19) was earlier put at 10.8% by SCI.
