Iran and Turkey will jointly invest in four industrial towns for the production of apparel, leather, gold and jewelry, auto parts and decorative stones.  Two of the industrial towns are located in Iran: one in the city of Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, and another in the city of Urmia in West Azarbaijan Province, according to deputy minister of industries, mining and trade, Ali Yazdani.  The official added that Turkey is planning to choose two of its industrial towns for joint investment with Iran.  Accompanied by a delegation of Iran’s Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade officials and heads of Iranian industrial parks, Yazdani arrived in Ankara on Thursday for a two-day stay and met with Turkish deputy minister of science, industry and technology, Ramazan Yildirim. Yazdani, who also chairs state-affiliated Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization, also visited Turkey’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization—known by its Turkish acronym KOSGEB—and met with Nezaket Emine Atasoy, the head of Turkish Industrialist Businesswomen and Businessmen Confederation.  Iran and Turkey recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of industrial parks.
