Cross-Border Cooperation With Turkey

Iran and Turkey agreed to reopen the Sarv-Esendere border crossing in May during the recent visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Turkey in mid-April, Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration reported on Sunday. The border crossing has been closed to traffic since August 21 due to insecurity on the Turkish side of the border. The two countries’ customs officials have also agreed to upgrade Bazargan border crossing to operate round-the-clock.
