The goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas in the 12-month period ending April 19, which also marks the end of the first Iranian month of Farvardin, increased by 10.8% compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to the Statistical Center of Iran’s latest report. SCI put the preceding month’s (last month of the Iranian calendar year) inflation rate at 11.3%. According to the report, the overall consumer price index (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 223.8 in Farvardin, indicating a 0.4% increase compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 7.7% compared with last year’s similar month.
