Almost one month after the urban inflation dropped, inflation in rural areas followed suit, according to data from the Statistical Center of Iran. The average inflation rate in rural areas decreased to 23.3% in the month of Mordad (July 23-August 22) from the 25.8% in the previous month. The statistics also show that foods, drinks, and cigarettes witnessed a 1.8% price hike over the period.
