Export markets for Iranian eggs have been largely lost to regional countries, resulting in a steep drop in exports and a slump in the sector, says chairman of Egg-Laying Hen Farmers Association, Nasser Nabipour. “Ukraine, India and Pakistan are now dominating the markets in Afghanistan, while Turkey has taken over Iraq,” he was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency on Tuesday. “To save the remaining market share, some producers have embarked on selling their products at or below cost price,” he added.
