Iran exported 1.2 million tons of fruit worth about $409 million in the last Iranian year (ended March 19), which shows a 30% decline compared to the previous year’s corresponding figure. Watermelon and melon were the most lucrative exports in the fresh fruit sector, accounting for $152 million of the total value, ISNA reported. Citrus was the only fruit whose exports saw an increase, as $10.7 million worth of them were shipped during the period, indicating an 87.7% compared with the preceding year’s corresponding figure.
