In accordance with its plan to improve the quality of construction materials, the ministry of roads and urban development is to issue its quality assurance certification only to quality domestic products, the head of the ministry’s research center, Mohammad Shekarchi told MNA on Tuesday. To increase the envisaged lifespan of the existing roads and structures, the ministry is to supervise the quality of domestically manufactured construction materials and to remove sub-par products from the market, Shekarchi said. “Improving quality cannot happen overnight and the country should meet this target by 2025,” he added.
