Agro Minister Invited to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov has officially invited his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Hojjati to visit the neighboring country in the near future. “During the recent visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Iran, a memorandum of understanding in the agriculture sector was signed between the two countries. Accordingly, we are ready to cooperate with Iran in a variety of agricultural fields, including training and research, soil and water management, development of cooperatives, exchange of seeds and trade in particular,” IRNA quoted Asadov as saying in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakayeen in Baku on Tuesday. Heading a high-level delegation, Aliyev visited Tehran in late-February and signed 11 agreements spanning a wide range of areas, including agriculture, customs cooperation, livestock production, railroad network expansion and joint gas and oil projects.
