The goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas in the 12 months ending March 19, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Esfand, increased 11.9% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
According to the latest report released by the Central Bank of Iran, the inflation rate for the preceding month of Bahman that ended February 19 was 12.6%.
The overall CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 234.8 in Esfand, indicating 0.7% growth compared with the previous month. The index registered a year-on-year increase of 8.3% compared with the similar month of last year.
Earlier, the Statistical Center of Iran put the inflation rate for Esfand at 11.3%.
CBI reported that the Producer Price Index in the period increased 4.9% compared with last year’s corresponding period. The index registered a year-on-year increase of 3.5% compared with the similar month of last year. PPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 215.8 in Esfand, indicating a 0.6% rise compared with the previous month.
