About 40% of Iran’s apparel market have been overtaken by smuggled clothes, mostly from China, says the director general of the Textile, Apparel and Leather Industry Organization affiliated to the Industries, Mining and Trade Ministry. Golnar Nassrollahi added that according to the figures by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, clothes worth over $700 million were smuggled into the country in 2014, IRNA reported.
