Bushehr’s Customs Revenues Decline

Bushehr’s 11-month customs revenues fell 30% to $526.8 million over the similar period of a year before. More than 24.5 million tons of goods, worth $12.5 billion, were exported via the southern province Bushehr during the 11 Iranian months ending Feb. 19. Despite a 3% slide in value, exports indicated a 4% increase in volume compared with the last year’s corresponding period, said the superintendent of Bushehr Customs Bureau, Ahmad Pourheydar. Paraffin, linear alkylbenzene, shrimps, fish and cement were among the province’s main exports. The UAE, India, Qatar, Vietnam and Kuwait were its prime destinations. A total of 1.36 million tons of goods worth $2.53 billion were imported via Bushehr during the period, registering a 20% hike in volume and a 34% drop in value of imports.
