Director General of Imam Khomeini International Airport Hamid Reza Seyyedi said it will take the airport six months to prepare the infrastructure for Iran Air’s newly-purchased Airbus A380s. According to Seyyedi, the airport will need to widen its taxiway and redesign its apron before it can accommodate the wide-body aircraft. Iran Air Chairman Farhad Parvaresh said the ordered jets will be delivered no sooner than 2020, News.mrud.ir reported. Airbus A380 is part of a list of 118 planes Iran purchased from the French planemaker based on a contract worth $27 billion.
