Khoy, Iran’s Top Honey Producer

With the annual production of 6,000 tons of honey, Khoy in West Azarbaijan Province is the top producer of the commosity in Iran, says governor of the city, Hossein Sivani. Referring to a 5% increase in Khoy’s honey production during the current Iranian year (to end March 19), Sivani added that the northwestern city is home to 1,400 beekeepers, producing 20% of the country’s honey, IRNA reported.
