Agricultural imports have decreased by $5 billion in the current Iranian year (to end March 19, 2015) compared to two years ago when President Hassan Rouhani took office, said the deputy agriculture minister. Abdolmehdi Bakhshandeh added that the sector’s trade deficit has narrowed by $3 billion over the period. According to the official, some 13 million tons of agricultural products have been imported so far this year, IRNA reported.
