Silk Road Trade Restoration

The first trial run of a train from China is expected to arrive at the border station of Sarakhs located in Iran’s northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province on Monday, following an agreement reached by Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to restore the Silk Road. The train will be welcomed by railroad officials and the Kazakh and Turkmen ambassadors as well as the Chinese envoy to Tehran, Mehr News Agency reported. It is loaded with 32 containers carrying commercial goods. The route has been launched to transfer commodities from China to Iran before heading for European countries.
